Canada #791T9 30c Deep Magenta And Black Queen Elizabeth II, 1977-1982 Floral & Environment Issue, A Fine Used Single, Showing No Tagging Except for a Narrow Dotted Bar

A fine used single of the 30c deep magenta, grey and black Queen Elizabeth II stamp from the 1977-1982 Floral & Environmental issue, showing no tagging except for a narrow 1 mm dotted bar in the middle of the stamp. Printed on paper that reads as DF/LF, but is DF/DF-fl with a sparse concentration of LF fibres and with dotted background.

The Queen Elizabeth stamps of this series can be found printed with background colours that appear more or less even and solid, with colours that appear mottled, and finally with backgrounds where the screening dots are very clearly visible (the dotted background.) Again this is not listed in Unitrade, but in my view it is a very collectible difference.

The Adminware database does not list this variety, but we estimate the value to be $10. The stamp offered here grades 65 as follows:

    Margins/centering: 30/60

    Paper freshness: 5/5

    Color: 5/5

    Impression: 0/5 (some ink flaking)

Absence of visible paper flaws: 5/5

    Perforations: 10/10

    Cancellation: 10/10
