Canada #783var 3c Multicoloured Canada Lily, 1977-1982 Floral & Environment Issue, a Very Fine NH LR Field Stock Block Showing A Taggant Spill Affecting 3 Stamps

A very fine mint NH lower right field stock block of the 3c multicoloured Canada Lily stamp from the 1977-1982 Floral & Environment Issue, printed in photogravure and engraving showing an unusual taggant spill affecting all four stamps in the block. Printed on NF/LF-fl paper.

The spill affects each stamp to a different degree and manifiests itself as a tagging mist that covers the design. It is strongest on the lower left stamp. It doesn't show clearly on the scan for the other three stamps because of the lighting, but it is clearly present on the other three stamps.

Unitrade does not list this error, and it, along with the other block offered in this sale, and the pair are the only examples we have seen or offered to date. Our estimate of the value of the block is $100.
