Canada #730T2a 14c Bright Red Parliament Buildings, 1977-1982 Floral & Environment Issue, a Fine NH Coil Single Showing the G2aC Tagging Error Plus Tag Blotches, NF-fl Paper With Light Tagging

A fine NH coil single of the 14c bright red parliament buildings stamp from the 1977-1982 Floral & Environmental issue, showing the G2aC tagging error, with additional errant tag blotches. Printed on NF-fl paper and with light tagging.

Although not specifically mentioned in Unitrade, the parliament stamps are found with three distinct tagging strengths:

  • invisible, where the stamp appears to be untagged.
  • light tagging, where the tagging bars appear visible but not dark, being a light yellowish cream.
  • dark tagging, in which the bands appear deep brownish yellow, and are very obvious on the stamps.

The Adminware database values this stamp at $20 for VFNH, so a fine example like this should be worth $10. The stamp offered here grades 70 as follows:

Margins/centering: 40/70

Paper freshness: 5/5

Colour: 5/5

Impression: 5/5

Absence of visible paper flaws: 5/5

Perforations: 10/10
