Canada #715T4b 14c Bright Red Parliament Buildings, 1977-1982 Floral & Environment Issue, the "Light in Window" and Missing Spire Varieties, a VFNH Left Sheet Margin Block of 8 Showing G2aC 1-Bar Tagging Errors on Right, DF Paper and Light Tagging

A very fine NH left sheet margin block of 8 of the 14c bright red parliament buildings stamp from the 1977-1982 Floral & Environmental issue, showing a G2aC 1-bar tagging error, on DF paper, with light tagging. This example has the tagging bar on the right and likely results from a tagging shift to the left. It also shows the "light in window" variety from position 32 and the "missing spire" variety at position 34.

The close up scans show the varieties. The light in window is a white patch in the top right window of the building. The missing spire is appears at the top of the roof of the central building in the foreground.

Although not specifically mentioned in Unitrade, the parliament stamps are found with three distinct tagging strengths:

  • invisible, where the stamp appears to be untagged.
  • light tagging, where the tagging bars appear visible but not dark, being a light yellowish cream.
  • dark tagging, in which the bands appear deep brownish yellow, and are very obvious on the stamps.
