Canada #O32 (SG#O195) $1 Slate Totem Pole 1953 Karsh Issue Plate 1 UR "G" Overprint Ribbed Paper VF-80 NH
A well centered and very fine NH example of the $1 slate Pacific Coast Totem Pole stamp from the 1953 Karsh Issue, with "G" overprint in a plate 1 upper right (UR) block of 4. Guide dot in the upper left corner of the top selvage, as is normal on this position. Printed on horizontal wove paper giving a dull reaction under ultraviolet light and showing clear ribbing on both the back and the front. Smooth, yellowish cream coloured gum. There are a couple of minor gum bends and the right selvage has been folded along the perfs. Unitrade values a VF-75 NH block at $100. The block offered here grades 80 as follows:
