Canada #O32 (SG#O195) $1 Grey Totem Pole 1953 Karsh Issue Plate 1 LR "G" Overprint Plate Dot On Selvage VF-80 NH
A well centered and very fine NH example of the $1 grey Pacific Coast Totem Pole stamp from the 1953 Karsh Issue, with "G" overprint in a plate 1 lower right (LR) block of 4. Guide dot in the bottom selvage under the "AN" of "Canadian", which is unusual for this position. Printed on horizontal wove paper giving a dull reaction under ultraviolet light and showing no clear ribbing on either the front or the back. Smooth, yellowish cream coloured gum. Unitrade values a VF-75 NH block at $100. The block offered here grades 80 as follows:
