Canada #605iii (SG#711) 10c Dark Carmine Queen Elizabeth II 1972-1978 Caricature Issue Coil Pair Ghost Tag Bars On Back F-70 NH
A fine NH pair of the 10c dark carmine Queen Elizabeth II coil stamp from the 1973-1977 Caricature Issue, showing partial ghost tagging bars on the back of the stamps. Printed on rose-tinted, vertical wove paper with no ribbing. The paper gives a non fluorescent grey violet reaction under ultraviolet light on the front, and a non-fluorescent greyish reaction on the back. General OP-2 Ottawa tagging, 4 mm wide, of moderate strength (clearly visible to the naked eye, but not dark), and glowing a bright yellow under ultraviolet light. The back scan of a single stamp shows a typical image of a partial ghost tagging bar on one of these stamps. Perforated 10.0 vertically. Smooth, cream PVA gum with a satin sheen. Unitrade lists 605iii as NF paper. I have found three different variations of the NF paper, of which this is one. Unitrade values a F-65 NH pair on the basic NF paper, with normal tagging at $1.00. A more accurate value for a variety like this is $2.50 to the pair. The pair offered here grades 70 as follows: Margins/centering: 40/70 Paper freshness: 5/5 Colour: 5/5 Impression: 5/5 Absence of visible paper flaws: 5/5 Perforations: 10/10 Note: the above scan is a stock photo as are all my scans for material after 1952. The stamp, stamps or multiple you will receive has been carefully checked to adhere to the above grading standards, so while it (they) may not be exactly the same, it (they) will be of the same quality. Also, I do not provide back scans of NH stamps or stamp, stamps or multiples after 1952 unless they are required to illustrate some attribute of the paper or gum.
