A very fine commercially used, in-period used block of 10 of 4 of the $2 multicoloured Quebec City definitive from the 1972-1977 Caricature and Landscapes Issue, perf. 11. Vertical wove paper, with no ribbing. Feint December 21, 1978 Smooth Rock Falls, ON CDS cancel. Under ultraviolet light, the paper gives a dull fluorescent greyish reaction, with a low density concentration of low fluorescent fibres, and a very sparse concentration of medium fluorescent fibres visible in the paper. Unitrade does not specify the paper fluorescence of stamp. There are actually at least 12 different paper types of this stamp, four of which were used for the plate 2 printings. Unitrade lists ten F-65 used singles of the basic stamp at $35.00. There should be a significant premium for used multiples that are in-period and of this quality. This stamp is from plate 2, and plate 2 was released on March 28, 1978, so a December usage is in period, as the $2 Kluane definitive was not issued until April 27, 1979. Most used blocks that one comes across are used way out of period, by stamp dealers on their mailings. There are a few minor wrinkles, that are mentioned here for accuracy, but are of no consequence on a multiple of this size. The block offered here grades VF-75 used as follows: Margins/centering: 35/60 Paper freshness: 5/5 Colour: 5/5 Impression: 5/5 Absence of visible paper flaws: 5/5 Perforations: 10/10 Cancellation: 10/10 Note any vertical or horizontal line shown in the scan is the edge of the acetate strip that the stamp was resting inside on the stockcard. Note: the above scan is a stock photo as are all my scans for material after 1952. The item(s) you will receive has (have) been carefully checked to adhere to the above grading standards, so while it (they) may not be exactly the same, it (they) will be of the same quality. Also, I do not provide back scans of NH stamps or blocks after 1952 unless they are required to illustrate some attribute of the paper or gum.
