Canada #593vii (SG#700) 8c Deep Blue Queen Elizabeth II 1972-1978 Caricature Issue Plate 8 UR NF Paper Type 2 VF-80 NH

A well centered and very fine NH plate 8 upper right block of the 8c deep blue Queen Elizabeth II stamp from the 1973-1977 Caricature Issue. Printed on vertical wove paper with no ribbing. The paper gives a non fluorescent blue grey reaction under ultraviolet light on the front, and a non-fluorescent light grey reaction on the back. General OP-2 Ottawa tagging, 4 mm wide, of dark strength (deep yellow to the naked eye), and glowing a bright yellow under ultraviolet light. Comb perforated 12.0 x 12.5. Smooth, creamy PVA gum with a satin sheen. Unitrade lists 593vii as NF paper and seems to suggest that only plate 7 exists with this paper. This is not correct, as plate 8 also exists with this paper. I have also found at least six varieties of NF paper and tagging, which all differ slightly from one another. This is one of those varieties. Unitrade values a VF-75 NH block at $12.
