A fine NH single of the 8c ultramarine Queen Elizabeth II stamp from the 1973-1977 Caricature Issue, showing an extra vertical tag line running down the stamp. Printed on vertical wove paper with horizontal ribbing. The paper gives a dull fluorescent blue grey reaction under ultraviolet light on the front and back, with a low density concentration of low fluorescent fibres and a sparse concentration of brownish woodpulp fibres, visible in the paper. General OP-2 Ottawa tagging, 4 mm wide, of very weak strength (nearly invisible to the naked eye), and glowing a bright yellow under ultraviolet light. As the picture shows, there is an extra vertical tag lins that runs down the length of the stamp on the left side. Comb perforated 12.0 x 12.5. Smooth, white PVA gum with a satin sheen. Unitrade lists 593iv as LF ribbed paper. I have found at least 7 varieties of LF paper and tagging, which all differ slightly from one another. This is one of those varieties. Unitrade values a F-65 NH single at $0.17, without the variety. But tagging varieties like this are very scarce and usually sell for at least $5-$10 each. The stamp offered here grades 70 as follows: Margins/centering: 40/70 Paper freshness: 5/5 Colour: 5/5 Impression: 5/5 Absence of visible paper flaws: 5/5 Perforations: 10/10 Note: the above scan is a stock photo as are all my scans for material after 1952.The item (s) you will receive has (have) been carefully checked to adhere to the above grading standards, so while it (they) may not be exactly the same, it (they) will be of the same quality. Also, I do not provide back scans of NH stamps or blocks after 1952 unless they are required to illustrate some attribute of the paper or gum.
