A superb unaddressed official first day cover of the 8c ultramarine Queen Elizabeth II stamp from the 1973-1977 Caricature Issue, with a plate 2 upper right corner block affixed. Printed on vertical wove paper with clear horizontal ribbing. The paper gives a dull fluorescent greyish white reaction under ultraviolet light, with a low density concentration of low fluorescent fibres and a sparse concentration of brownish woodpulp fibres. General OP-2 Ottawa tagging, 4 mm wide, of very weak strength (almost invisible to the naked eye, but with a light azure colour), and glowing a bright yellow under ultraviolet light. Comb perforated 12.0 x 12.5. The envelope stock gives a dull fluorescent brownish reaction under UV light, with a sparse concentration of low fluorescent fibres visible in the paper. Unitrade values a VF-75 cover at $0.85 for the basic NF paper as a single, and does not value any of the paper varieties on FDC, nor does it value plate blocks. The cover offered here grades SUP-98 as follows: Intactness of the cover: 25/25 Paper freshness from the front: 25/25 Paper freshness from the back: 10/10 Condition of the paper and edges: 15/15 Appearance of the handwriting: 5/5 (unaddressed) Clarity of the postal markings: 15/15 Condition of the stamps: 3/5 Note: the above scan is a stock photo as are all my scans for material after 1952.The item (s) you will receive has (have) been carefully checked to adhere to the above grading standards, so while it (they) may not be exactly the same, it (they) will be of the same quality. Also, I do not provide back scans of NH stamps or blocks after 1952 unless they are required to illustrate some attribute of the paper or gum.
