Canada #591xxiii (SG#698) 6c Scarlet Pearson 1972-1978 Caricature Issue Precancel HF Paper Type 4 VF-75 NH

A very fine NH single of the 6c precancelled bright scarlet Lester Pearson stamp from the 1973-1977 Caricature Issue on the HF paper. Printed on vertical wove paper showing no ribbing on either the front or back, and a smooth, burnished texture on the printed surface. The paper gives a dull fluorescent greyish white reaction under ultraviolet light on the face, with low density concentrations of low and medium fluorescent fibres visible. On the back, the paper gives a medium fluorescent bluish white reaction with low density concentrations of low and medium fluorescent fibres, and very few brownish woodpulp fibres visible in the paper. General OP-2 Ottawa tagging, 4 mm wide, of moderate strength (clearly visible to the naked eye, but not dark), and glowing a bright yellow under ultraviolet light. Comb perforated 12.0 x 12.5. Smooth, cream PVA gum with a satin sheen. Unitrade lists 591xx as MF paper and 591xxiii as HF paper and does not list LF paper. This paper is bright enough in comparison to the "MF" examples to be considered HF. In fact I found 8 varieties of tagging and fluorescence that can be considered as the HF paper.
