Two well centered and very fine NH singles of the 6c deep rose red and bright scarlet Lester Pearson stamps from the 1973-1977 Caricature Issue, each printed on a different paper. General OP-2 Ottawa tagging, 4 mm wide, of light strength (barely visible to the naked eye), and glowing a bright yellow under ultraviolet light. The paper gives different reactions under UV light and displays different physical characteristics as follows:
- The deep rose red stamp is on a vertical wove paper with a rough surface texture. Under UV light, the paper gives a non-fluorescent greyish reaction on both sides.
- The bright scarlet stamp is on vertical wove paper that has a burnished smooth surface on the printed surface. Under UV light, the paper gives a low fluorescent bluish white reaction, with a sparse concentration of low fluorescent fibres, and a very sparse concentration of medium fluorescent fibres being visible in the paper.
