Canada #590 (SG#697) 5c Lilac Bennett 1972-1978 Caricature Issue LF Paper Type 6 Plate 1 LL VF-80 NH

A well centered and very fine NH plate 1 lower left block of the 5c lilac Richard Bennett stamp from the 1973-1977 Caricature Issue. Printed on vertical wove paper showing no ribbing on either the front or back. The paper gives a dull fluorescent greyish reaction under ultraviolet light on the face, and a dull fluorescent bluish reaction on the back, with a low density concentration of low fluorescent fibres, and a sparse concentration of medium fluorescent fibres visible on both sides. General OP-2 Ottawa tagging, 4 mm wide, of light strength (barely visible to the naked eye), and glowing a bright yellow under ultraviolet light. Comb perforated 12.0 x 12.5, with the selvage fully perforated through in both directions. Smooth, creamy PVA gum with a satin sheen. Unitrade values a VF-75 NH plate block at $1.
