Canada #465Biv (SG#590c) $1 Scarlet Edmonton Oilfield 1967-1973 Centennial Issue UL Plate 2 Pair MF Paper F-70 NH
A fine NH mint upper left (UL) plate 2 inscription pair of the $1 scarlet Edmonton Oilfield stamp from the 1967-1973 Centennial Issue. Printed on white, horizontal wove paper with PVA gum that has a satin sheen. Under UV light, the paper gives a dull fluorescent greyish white glow and contains a low density concentration of low fluorescent fibres, a sparse concentration of medium fluorescent fibres, and a very sparse concentration of high fluorescent fibres. This is one of four variations that I have found, all of which are the MF paper listed by Unitrade. Line perforated 11.95 x 11.85, which is somewhat scarcer than the perf. 11.95 or perf. 11.85.
Unitrade values a F-65 NH pair at $25, and does not price plate pairs. The pair offered here grades 70 as follows:
Margins/Centering: 40/70
Paper freshness: 5/5
Colour: 5/5
Impression: 5/5
Absence of visible paper flaws: 5/5
Perforations: 10/10
Please note that the scan shown is a stock scan. The actual item may differ. However, it has been carefully checked, and graded to strict criteria to ensure that it is the same overall grade. Also, I do not provide back scans of post-1951 material unless it is required to illustrate some characteristic of the paper or gum.
