An extremely fine example of the 5c Canada Maple Leaf and Coat of Arms stamp from the 1964-1966 Provincial Emblems Issue First Day Cover. Black Rose Craft cachet depicting a map of Canada, maple leaf and coat of arms. The envelope is on hibrite paper stock, while the stamp is printed on paper giving a dull fluorescent greyish reaction under ultraviolet light, with a very sparse concentration of low and medium fluorescent fibres. The stamp is tied by a crisp strike of an Ottawa wavy line first day cancel. The cover offered here grades XF-91 as follows:

Intactness of the cover: 25/25

Paper freshness from the front: 20/25

Paper freshness from the back: 8/10

Condition of the paper and edges: 15/15

Appearance of the handwriting: 5/5 (unaddressed)

Clarity of the postal markings: 15/15

Condition of the stamps: 3/5

Unitrade lists a Rosecraft or Artcraft cachet for a single stamp, on dull paper, on cover for $2. Unitrade does not price the fluorescent papers on FDC, but a reasonable value for this cover would be $3. Note: the above scan is a stock photo as are all my scans for material after 1952. The cover you will receive has been carefully checked to adhere to the above grading standards, so while it (they) may not be exactly the same, it (they) will be of the same quality.
