Canada #341p (SG#467p) 5c Ultramarine 1954 Wilding Issue W2B Dark Tag DF Gr Ribbed Paper F-70 NH
A fine NH example of the 5c ultramarine Winnipeg tagged Queen Elizabeth II stamp from the 1954 Wilding Issue. The stamp is printed on vertical wove paper that shows clear ribbing on the gum, and gives a dull-fluorescent greyish reaction under ultraviolet light. The tagging has been heavily applied, appearing dark yellow, as shown in the scan which has a moderate tag next to it for comparison only - this lot is only the one stamp. Smooth, shiny yellowish cream coloured gum. Unitrade values a VF-75 single at $5.50. The stamp offered here grades 70 as follows:
Paper freshness: 5/5
Absence of visible paper flaws: 5/5
Note: the above scan is a stock photo as are all my scans for material after 1952.The item (s) you will receive has (have) been carefully checked to adhere to the above grading standards, so while it (they) may not be exactly the same, it (they) will be of the same quality. Also, I do not provide back scans of NH stamps or blocks after 1952 unless they are required to illustrate some attribute of the paper of gum.
