Canada #339p (SG#465p) 3c Carmine 1954 Wilding Issue W2B DF Greyish Ribbed Paper VF-84 NH
A very well centered and very fine NH example of the 3c carmine Winnipeg Tagged Queen Elizabeth II stamp from the 1954 Wilding Issue. The stamp is printed on horizontal wove paper giving a dull-fluorescent greyish reaction under ultraviolet light and showing ribbing only on the gum. The tagging is lightly applied, being almost invisible to the naked eye. Smooth, shiny cream coloured gum. Unitrade values a VF-75 NH single at $1.75. However, stamps grading higher than VF-80 are scarcer because the stamps were line perforated. The stamp offered here grades 84 as follows:
Paper freshness: 5/5
Absence of visible paper flaws: 5/5
Note: the above scan is a stock photo as are all my scans for material after 1952.The item (s) you will receive has (have) been carefully checked to adhere to the above grading standards, so while they may not be exactly the same, they will be of the same quality. Also, I do not provide back scans of NH stamps or blocks after 1952 unless they are required to illustrate some attribute of the paper of gum.
