A presentable, good used example of the 1c brown lilac re-engraved Prince of Wales stamp from the 1868-1894 Cents issue. Printed on an unusually thick carton paper, showing no vertical mesh. Line perf. 11.9 x 12. Unlisted in Unitrade, but the regular medium paper is valued at $50 for a F-65 used stamp. This paper is much scarcer than the normal medium paper, and should be worth a premium. There is a light diagonal bend, that is not a full crease, that reduces the grade from G-50 to G-45. The stamp offered here grades G-45 as follows: Margins/centering: 15/60 Paper freshness: 5/5 Colour: 5/5 Impression: 5/5 Absence of visible paper flaws: 5/5 Perforations: 5/10 Cancellation: 10/10 Adjustment for light bend: -5 points
