Newfoundland #188 (SG#212) 4c Blackish Lilac Prince of Wales 1932-37 Resources Issue VF-79 OG


A very well centered and very fine OG example of the 4c blackish lilac Prince of Wales (King Edward VIII) stamp from the 1932-1937 Resources definitive Issue. Printed on vertical wove paper, showing no obvious mesh, and with crackly cream gum that has a semi-gloss sheen. Comb perforated 13.6 x 13.5. There is a light horizontal gum crease just below the hinge that is not visible from the front. The comparison scan shown in "more images" shows the subtle difference between the two shades deep reddish lilac and blackish lilac. Unitrade values a VF-75 OG single at $10. The stamp offered here grades 79 as follows:
