Pristine 1870's Western Union Telegaph Co Remittance Envelope Used To Send Money For a Diploma
A superb orange and black envelope from the Western Union Telegraph Co., which shows the "No." and Charges fields both filled in and "Bruce's Diploma" marked on the front. My research of similar envelopes online reveals that there are several types that have different fonts over the years as the old versions were replaced with newer ones. My research indicates that this type with this font style comes from the 1870's. The usually sell for $40 or so, but are usually found in rougher condition than this one, which is superb, with no creases, edge wear, or damage to the backflap. Est. $60.
