Canada #25iii 3c Ventian Red Queen Victoria, 1868-1897 Large Queen Issue, Single Usage on November 1869 Cover From Toronto
A fine cover franked with the 3c ventian red Queen Victoria stamp from the 1868-1897 Large Queen Issue. Sent from Toronto to Windsor on November 4, 1869, and franked with a single 3c brown red, on what I believe to be the Duckworth Paper 8, just based on the smoothness of the paper and its apparent thickness. Unitrade does not list the Duckworth paper 8 on cover, but does list a VG used single at $150. This is a very good cover, based on the condition of the envelope, and the stamp, which has a small corner fault. So, it's value should be approximately $175. There is a possibility that it might be Duckworth paper 9, based on my examination of off-cover examples and comparison of the printed surface to what is on this cover. However, that paper is just as scarce as the Duckworth paper 8, and should therefore have at least the same value.
