Canada #359-361 4c Violet and 5c Ultramarine, Hockey Players, Caribou & Mountain Goat, 1956 Hockey and National Wildlife Week Issue, A Specialized Group of 13 Blocks From Plates 1 and 2, Showing Different Perforations, Papers and Shades, VFNH

A group of 13 plate 1, plate 2 and field stock blocks from the 1956 Hockey and 1956 National Wildlife Week Issues. All of the blocks of the Hockey issue are printed on ribbed paper, but the reactions under UV light vary, with most blocks giving a clear greyish DF reaction. However, two blocks give what is very close to a LF reaction, appearing muchg whiter. These paper variations are repeated on the Wildlife Week Issue also. In terms of shades, all three commemorative stamps show variations that range from very subtle to quite pronounced. This is especially so on the 5c mountain goat stamp. Finally, a large range of different perforations is represented here, including: 11.9 x 12, 11.95, 11.9, 11.95 x 11.9, 11.95 x 12, 12 x 11.95, and 12. All of these varieties are identified on the stock cards the blocks are on. The grades vary from 75 to 84. Unitrade does not list or price any of these varieties, but just values the basic blocks at $32.90.
