Two very fine used examples of the mid-Montreal printing of the 3c orange-red Queen Victoria stamp from the 1870-1897 Small Queen Issue, each printed on a different paper. One is printed on horizontal wove paper with distinct mesh and the other is printed on vertical wove. The stamp on horizontal wove has a wrinkle, which is not a true crease and should come out if the stamp is soaked and pressed. Both are perf. 11.75 x 12, which is a variation of the perf. 11.5 x 12 (Gibbons lists both 11.75 x 12 and 11.5 x 12). Unitrade values two VF-75 used singles at $30. The stamps offered here grade 80 and 84 as follows:
