VFOG & Fine NH examples of the 5c dark purple Wilfred Laurier from the 1927 60th Anniversary of Confederation Issue showing different unlisted plate flaws. Although not listed specifically by Unitrade, the stamps of this issue exist with two different gum types, as well as subtle shade variations of every value in the set. The gum types found are either a streaky cream gum with a semi-gloss sheen, or a similar type of gum without the streaks. Each of the stamps in this lot has a different unlisted plate flaw as follows:
(1) A dot inside the right 5
(2) A dot inside the O of Post.
(3) A stained shirt collar, consisting of a dot on the collar.
It is not clear whether or not these varieties are constant, though they may be listed in Hans Reiche's book on these issues. Although minor, any variety on these issues is significant, due to how few of them there are.
Unitrade values these at $16.5, for the basic stamps without the plate flaws The stamps offered here grade between 70 and 75 as follows:
Centering/Margins: 40/70 and 45/70
Paper Freshness: 5/5
Absence of Visible Paper Flaws: 5/5
