Lot 515 Canada #341var 5c Bright Blue Queen Elizabeth II, 1954-1962 Wilding Issue, A VF Used Single, An Apparently Unlisted Hibrite Paper, Probably A Contaminated DF Stamp, But Looks Almost Perfectly HB On Both Sides
A VF used single of the 5c bright blue Queen Elizabeth II from the 1954-1962 Wilding Issue. An apparently unlisted hibrite paper, probably a contaminated DF stamp, but looks almost perfectly HB on both sides. The only thing that gives this away and suggests that it is a contaminated stamp is a small area on the back that appears slightly less bright than the other areas. It is a tell-tale sign of contamination from soaking. However, it is very close to perfectly HB on both sides, and consequently I just had to offer it as a reference example.
Unitrade values this at $5. The stamp offered here grades 80 as follows:
Centering/Margins: 40/60
Paper Freshness: 5/5
Colour: 5/5
Impression: 5/5
Absence of Visible Paper Flaws: 5/5
Perforations: 10/10
Cancellation: 10/10
