Lot 430 Canada, Stampless Cover, Sent To New York August 5th 1852, A Crisp Strike Of 6d Circle Rating Handstamp & Fantastic Strike Of Steam Boat Letter Quebec Cancel, Estimated Value $450-600

A stampless cover with a crisp strike of 6d circle rating handstamp and a fantastic strike of steamboat letter Quebec cancel, plus a crisp red arched 'canada' exchange handstamp. The letter was rated 10c upon arrival in us with a circled '10' stamp, overstamped on the 6d stamp. august 6, red transit montreal back stamp. some file folds as normal, but a very fine example with fantastic markings. a superb item for a collection of stampless covers. note: most cross border stampless covers that seel in the #03 range have either the 6d or 10c rating stamp, but not both, and just the Montreal transit backstamp. the scarcity and value here lies in both the steamboat cancel and the fact that it has both. Estimated Value $450-600
