On NF & DF ribbed & smooth papers, smooth and streaky gums. The Northern Developement issue is the first issue of the 1960's to be printed on horizontal wove paper with no visible horizontal ribbing, but rather a smooth face. Both issues can be found with DF and NF fluorescence levels, with DF being quite a bit scarcer than NF. The gum on both issues can be found with both smooth and streaky finishes. The Northern Developent Issue includes examples on DF & NF horizontal ribbed paper, with streaky and smooth gum. The Emily Pauline Johnson issue includes examples on DF horizontal ribbed paper with smooth gum, NF ribbed paper with smooth gum, DF smooth paper with smooth & streaky gum.
Unitrade does not list the smooth versus ribbed paper distinctions, nor the DF versus NF differences. From an examination of all the stamps in my stock, I can see that the ribbed paper on #392 is far scarcer than the smooth paper, and DF is scarcer than NF. Our best estimate of the value, based on what most paper varieties sell for is $6. The stamps offered here grade 80-84 as follows:
