Lot 425 Canada #1674ivar 2c Ironwork, 1999-2007 Traditional Trades Definitives, A VFNH Bottom Inscription Block Of 20 December 2001 CBN Reprint With Imperforate Selvedge, No Barcode & Progressive Rightward Shift Of The Yellow, Resulting in "Broken 2"
A VFNH bottom inscription block of 20 of the 2c multicoloured Ironwork from the 1999-2007 Traditional Trades Definitives December 2001 CBN reprint with imperforate selvedge, no barcode & progressive rightward shift of the yellow, resulting in "broken 2". This is an interesting transitional shift, in which the six stamps on the right have a nearly normal registration of the colours, so that the "Canada" appears white, and the "2" appears blue. Then, as one moves to the left in the block, the yelow is shifted further and further rightward, causing more and more yellow to appear in both "Canada" and the "2", until the stamps on the extreme left side have fully variegated "2's"and "Canada" appears light yellow.
Unitrade does not list this variety, but based on the usual value of similar shifts, our estimate of the value is $100. The block offered here grades 80 as follows:
Centering/Margins: 50/70
Paper Freshness: 5/5
Colour: 5/5
Impression: 5/5
Absence of Visible Paper Flaws: 5/5
Perforations: 10/10
