A VFOG example of the 3c on 4c rose from the 1890 Surcharge Issue, double surcharge, one inverted. This error is listed in Scott Classic but not priced either mint or used. Gibbons does not list it for this surcharge. However, they do list double, one inverted errors on the earlier 2c and 4c surcharges. Those list for between $100 and $400 on all but two of the varieties, which are much more common. I would suggest that the error has to be scarcer on this issue as Scott does list and price the others as well. Our estimate of the value based on the condition is $300.
