Lot #4 Canada #454ii 1c Chocolate Brown Nothern Lights and Dogsled Team, 1967-1973 Centennial Issue, Correct Usage as a Make-Up Stamp on a July 8, 1971 Calgary Stampede Cover, Including Letterhead
A cover postmarked at the Calgary Stampede post office, bearing a multicolour cachet and commemoratve handstamp. The cover is franked with the 6c Spring Maple Leaf and a single on HB paper, correctly paying the new 7c rate, which took effect on June 30. Unitrade indicates that the HB paper printing appeared in June 1971, so this cover is a fairly early example of it's use.
