Lot 371 Canada #786, 791-792, 941 5c, 10c, 30c, 32c Multicoloured Various Subjects, 1977-1985 Floral & Environment Issue, 2 VF Commercial US Covers Franked With Singles & Pairs On Overpaid US Covers, Not Philatelic!
2 VF commercial US covers of the 5c, 10c, 30c, 32c multicoloured Various Subjects from the 1977-1985 Floral & Environment Issue franked with singles & pairs on overpaid us covers, not philatelic!. The first cover, sent December 15, 1982, is franked with a pair of the 5c maple leaf booklet stamps and a 30c Queen, for a total of 40c, overpaying the 35c rate b y a full five cents, which means the sender wasted a 5c stamp. This was most likely because the sender was not sure of what the actual rate was, and wanted to make sure there was no issue. The second cover, sent December 11, 1984 is franked with a 32c Queen and 10c Lady's slipper, for a total of 42c postage, being overpaid by a full 5c also. This could be either because the sender was unsure of the rate (less likely, as it had been in effect for nearly 2 years at this point), or mostl likely because they only had a 10c stamp and had no choice byt to overpay the rate.
Unitrade does not value commercial domestic or US domestic covers. Our estimate of the value is $8.
