Lot 370 Canada #785, 789 5c, 17c Multicoloured Shooting Star & Queen Elizabeth II, 1977-1985 Floral & Environment Issue, A VF Commercial US Cover Franked With Two Pairs Paying 44c Oversize & Overweight US Rate

A VF commercial US cover of the 5c, 17c multicoloured Shooting Star & Queen Elizabeth II from the 1977-1985 Floral & Environment Issue franked with two pairs paying 44c oversize & overweight US rate. The stamps are just tied by unclear roller cancels to a yellow catalogue envelope that is still in relatively pristine condition for a catalogue envelope that has been through the mail, as these are usually quite heavily creased. Although no date is visible. the presence of the 17c stamps means that it must have been between 1979 and 1982. The US overweight rate in effect from July 1, 1979 to December 31, 1981 was 30c, so it seems highly likely that the oversize and overweight rate would have been 44c. A nice example of this oversize and overweight rate from this issue.

Unitrade does not value commercial domestic or US domestic covers. Our estimate of the value is $5.
