Lot 350 Cubic Foot Box Containing 5 Albums & 1 Stockbook, Scandinavia, Germany, Great Britain, Over $600 Cat. In Stamps
One 1 cubic foot box containing 5 albums and 1 stockbook as follows:
- One album contains Great Britain presentation packs and first day covers from the late 1970's through late 80's. Among the FDC's is a better 1971 Machin head cover with a delayed posting handstamp, due to the 1971 Post Office strike. There are 9 packs and 38 FDC's all the way up to 1989. At least $100 of catalogue value here.
- The stockbook contains several hundred damaged used Newfoundland stamps, which will be useful for shade and paper studies, and also for searching for re-entries.
- One album is a Scott International Sweden album, in excellent, like new condition, which goes to 2015 and contains scores of booklet panes, miniature sheets and singles that are mint hinged. Several of the better discount stamp booklet panes are here, which list in Scott for between $25 and $50 a pane. There are some used stamps from 1897 up through the 1960's, but most of the material, which is mint, starts in 1971 and goes to 2002. There must be at least $300-$350 in catalogue value here.
- One album is a basic no-nonsense Switzerland album, that contains only a few stamps and covers issues up to 1952, and is in good condition.
- One album is a binder that contains about 750 modern used Sweden, Norway, Greenland and Germany stamps, many with nice CDS cancels. The issues are generally 1990's and 2000's, and so have many, many, useful stamps. Most of these stamps catalogue on average 40-50c each, and some are over $1. So, there is probably another $300 or so here. There is moderate duplication.
- One album is a grey Olympian world album that contains pages for countries from Natal to Romania. This is a junior level album, which contains spaces for some, but not all issues, and the stamp spaces generally cover the page on both sides. It is moderately filled, with issues that go up to 1983. Probably about $15-$25 worth of stamps.
