A very fine used example of the lt black on green paper from the 1863 Tugrali Issue. 2022 Scott Classic cat. $20.

As per the notes in Revereend Earee's book, the genuine stamps exhibit the following characteristics: (1) the monogram appears almost solid in the centre, wheras the forgeries show a large dot in the centre of the monogram (2) both points of the crescent are the same height, whereas in the forgeries the left side is higher than the right and (3) the semi-circular line in the middle of the top of the stamp that joins the two corner ornaments touches the inner frameline on the top, but does not touch on the forgeries. Based on this we have determined these to be genuine. Please note that this is one issue where Scott does NOT note the existence of forgeries.
