Lot 343 Canada #1194-1194C 37c-40c Parliament & Flag Coils, 1988-1992 Mammal and Architecture Issue, A Specialized Lot of 11 VF Used Singles, Including Most Listed Paper Varieties

A F and VF used group of 11 singles, being most all of the listed paper varieties. Included here are:
• 37c blue on DF Peterborough paper, 2 singles, each a different shade.
• 37c blue on MF Peterborough paper.
• 37c blue on MF-fl Rolland paper. The reason why I believe this to be Rolland paper and not Peterborough is because there are no other examples of flecked Peterborough paper that I am ware of, whereas there are many, many examples of flecked Rolland paper. This paper is also less stiff than the other stamps. The blue is also a touch brighter than the other blues.
• 38c on DF and LF Peterborough paper.
• 39c on DF, LF and HF Peterborough paper.
• 40c on DF and MF Peterborough paper.
Unitrade does not price the 37c on Rolland paper in used condition, presumably because they don’t feel that it is possible to distinguish it from Peterborough paper. However, it is possible, and we feel that a reasonable used value would be $15-$20. The remaining stamps list for $3.60, so our estimate for this lot would be $18. The stamps offered here grade between 70 and 84.

The Mammal and Architecture definitive issue is the subject of this week's blog post. You are encouraged to go here to find more information about the paper, shade, gum and fluorescence varieties that are described here, that are not in Unitrade. There you will find all of the information that you need in one place. That post will be published by the end of the day on Friday, December 16, 2022.
