Lot 337 Canada #77var, 78var 2c, 3c Carmine Rose, Deep Rosine Queen Victoria, 1898-1902 Numeral Issue, 2 Fine & VF Used Singles With LR Corner Re-Entry And "Completed Right Numeral Box" On 3c
2 fine & VF used singles of the 2c, 3c carmine rose, deep rosine Queen Victoria from the 1898-1902 Numeral Issue with LR corner re-entry and "completed right numeral box" on 3c. The upper left corner of the right numeral box is usually truncated by the oval. On the example offered here, the left numeral box frameline projects up through and into the oval, to where it would have been if the numeral box was complete. The re-entry of the 2c shows the horizontal shading lines to the left of the right numeral box doubled, as well as the base of the "2" and bottom of the numeral box. This is similar to the twisted re-entries illustrated on Timble's website.
Unitrade values this at $1.5 for fine used & VF used singles, without the variety and re-entry. Our estimate of the value with the re-entry and variety is $10. The stamps offered here grade 68, 73 as follows:
