A tattered fair to good cover sent from Summerside PEI to Isaac Hoyt, agent at the Acadian Mines in Pictou, NS. The stamp is tied by a 10 bar oval grid cancel. There are Amherst, Stellarton and Pictou split ring backstamps. The cover is quit tattered, with a good portion of the right side missing. This cover was mailed in April 1872, some 4 months after the currency was changed from Sterling to decimal. Unitrade cat. for fine $60. Net Est. $10.
