A fine used example of the 1d lilac from the 1876-1880 Queen Victoria Keyplate Issue. Wmk Crown CC, perf. 14, SON Lagos barred grid cancel. The Lagos barred grid is the standard cancel that was in use between 1876 and 1879, when the Perf. 14 Crown CC set was in use. CDS's are practically non-existent during this period. They reappear around 1884 on the first Crown CA issue. This strike is one of the nicer ones because it is struck very cleanly. 2022 Scott Classic Cat $21.
