A well centered and very fine used example of a very dangerous forgery, but not Sperati, of the rare 2/6d olive black Queen Victoria De La Rue Keyplate stamp from the 1884-1886 second Crown CA watermarked issue, printed in the new colours. . As stated in Scott, excellent forgeries on watermarked paper exist and this is one of those. The design is very well reproduced, but something about it just doesn't quite look right, or at least not like De La Rue's work. The cancel is also somewhat indistinct and not contemporary to the period.

Our nest estimate of the value as a reference copy is $150.
