Lot 320A Canada #21iv 1/2c Black Queen Victoria, 1868-1897 Large Queen Issue, A Fair Unused Singles Perf. 12 On Duckworth Paper 3, Showing Spur In Scroll Left Of H & Full Guideline In Bottom Margin

A Fair unused singles of the 1/2c black Queen Victoria from the 1868-1897 Large Queen Issue perf. 12 on Duckworth paper 3, showing spur in scroll left of "H" & full guideline in bottom margin. The stamp unfortunately is severely age toned. This may come out with prolonged soaks in water, though I doubt it will come out completely. There is also a shallow thin on the back. What is interesting about it, in addition to the spur variety, which is fairly common on this value, is the full guideline in the bottom margin, which I don't recall ever seeing before on any Large Queen. So, if you can clean it up with a few goad soaks and at least lighten the toning, it will be a presentable example of a full guideline on this issue.

Unitrade values this at $45 for VG unused. Our estimate of the value for the condition offered is $10. The stamp offered here grades 40 as follows:
