Lot 259 Canada #1159var 6c Red Fox, 1988-1992 Mammal and Architecture Issue, A VF Used Example Showing White Void Printing Flaw in the LL Corner
A VF used single of the 6c red fox showing a dramatic white printing void flaw at the lower left corner. Because this is used, the possibility exists that it is merely a stamp with a damaged surface. I have considered this and have carefully examined the surface under a loupe. The surface is undamaged, showing the full chalk coating, but no ink. Ordinarly when the surface is damaged by scotch tape or abrasions, the chalk coating will be damaged also. The undamaged surface suggests that this is a legitimate printing flaw. Unlisted in Unitrade. Net est. $10. The stamp offered here grades 78.
The Mammal and Architecture definitive issue is the subject of this week's blog post. You are encouraged to go here to find more information about the paper, shade, gum and fluorescence varieties that are described here, that are not in Unitrade. There you will find all of the information that you need in one place. That post will be published by the end of the day on Friday, December 16, 2022.
