Lot 250 Canada #FPS16 and FPS17 40c Bright Red Purple and 50c Lake Brown 1932-1948 First Postal Scrip Issue, Fine NH Examples of Late Printings
Fresh and fine NH examples of the 40c bright red purple and 50c lake brown stamps from the 1932-1948 First Postal Scrip Issue, being late printings. Printed on horizontal wove paper, with clear vertical mesh visible on the gummed side, and with yellowish cream gum. I believe that these stamps are very likely from a printing made in the early 1960's as this type of paper is consistent with that used by the CBN to print the Canadian issues of the early 1960's. Van Dam values F-65 NH examples at $24. The stamps offered here grade 70 as follows:
Centering/margins: 40/70
Paper freshness: 5/5
Colour: 5/5
Impression: 5/5
Absence of visible paper flaws: 5/5
Perforations: 10/10
