Lot 236 Canada #1157, 1181ii, 1182iv $1-$2 High Value Definitive, 1988-1992 Mammal and Architecture Issue, Combination Use of the CBN Reprints on Three $3.38 Registered Domestic Covers

Three domestic registered covers, all sent August, October and November 1993, and all franked with $3.38 postage. Each has a different combination of stamps making up the rate, and in each case the printings of the $1 and $2 definitives used are different:
• The October 1993 cover is franked with Ashton Potter printings of the 3c, and 86c berries and pear, the CBN printing of the 43c flag, and the scarcer October 1992 reprint of the $2. The 86c and one 3c are damaged, but the $2 is sound.
• The November 1993 cover is franked with Ashton Potter printings of the 2c, 5c and 86c berries and pear, the October 1992 reprint of the $2.
• The August 1993 cover is franked with the 3c muskrat, Ashton Potter printings of the 10c and 25c berries, plus the August 1992 reprint of the $, and the October 1992 reprint of the $2.
Very fine overall. Nice usages of these scarce reprints. Net est. $35.

The Mammal and Architecture definitive issue is the subject of this week's blog post. You are encouraged to go here to find more information about the paper, shade, gum and fluorescence varieties that are described here, that are not in Unitrade. There you will find all of the information that you need in one place. That post will be published by the end of the day on Friday, December 16, 2022.
