Lot 224 Canada #1179-1179b 78c Beluga Whale, 1988-1992 Mammal and Architecture Issue, Single and Combination Usages of the Perf. 13.1 and 14.4 x 13.8 on International Covers Mailed in 1990 and 1991
Two international airmail covers, one sent to the UK in February 1990 and the other sent to Czechoslovakia in December 1991, and both franked with the 78c beluga whale stamp. The 1990 cover is a single franking, of the perf. 14.4 x 13.8, paying the 78c airmail rate. The 1991 cover is franked with a perf. 13.1, plus a 2c porcupine on Slater paper, paying the 80c airmail rate. There are some small edge faults at the top of the 1990 cover, from opening. Fine overall. Unitrade suggests a value of $25 for single usage of high value stamps. However, our estimate for these is $15.
The Mammal and Architecture definitive issue is the subject of this week's blog post. You are encouraged to go here to find more information about the paper, shade, gum and fluorescence varieties that are described here, that are not in Unitrade. There you will find all of the information that you need in one place. That post will be published by the end of the day on Friday, December 16, 2022.
