16 VF used singles of the 1c-3c deep yellow, green, orange red, vermilion Queen Victoria from the 1870-1897 Small Queen Issue. All with full dated CDS town cancels, mostly 2nd Ottawa printings, includes one perf. 11.75 x 12 Montreal printing. All of the town cancels on these are different. The paper is generally the soft, translucent poor quality wove that is somewhat brownish, but NOT the newsprint-like paper. A few are on the more opaque version of this paper, and the 1c is on the poor quality wove with clear horizontal mesh. One Montreal printing of the 3c in pale red orange, has a June 6, 1878 Waterford ON cancel, and is on thin, soft horizontal wove paper.
