Lot 214 Canada #35, 35i, 36, 37, 41 1c, 2c, 3c Yellow, Green, Orange Red & Vermilion Queen Victoria, 1870-1897 Small Queen Issue, 12 VG - VF Used Singles, All With Complete Strikes Of Fancy Cork Cancellations, All Montreal Printings Except 1 #41
12 VG - VF used singles of the 1c, 2c, 3c yellow, green, orange red & vermilion Queen Victoria from the 1870-1897 Small Queen Issue. All with complete strikes of fancy cork cancellations, all Montreal printings except 1 #41. The stamps offered here are all full to nearly full strikes of fancy cork cancellations that show the full pattern. While none are particularly rare, most cork cancels are only partial strikes.
Unitrade value for the basic stamps is not really appropriate here, as the value lies primarily in the cancellations themselves. Even a common cork, if a full, clear strike should be worth at least $2. Therefore, we estimate the value at $30. The stamps offered here grade 61-84 as follows:
Centering/Margins: 25/60, 30/60, 35/60, 40/60 and 44/60
Paper Freshness: 5/5and 3/5
Colour: 5/5
Impression: 5/5
Absence of Visible Paper Flaws: 5/5
