A VFNH UR plate 1 block of 4 of the 50c multicolored seashore from the 1972-1977 Caricature Issue on fluorescent paper, type II, Perf 12.5 x 12. One of the key blocks, as most type II blocks come from plate 2 in the perf. 13.3, rather than the perf. 12.5 x 12. Most that do exist are field stock like this one. Most all of the field stock blocks of this issue were used up by dealers for postage, because of a widely held belief at the time that blank corner blocks had little collector value. They were unaware that this is the only way these printings usually come. There is a light grey mark in the selvedge, which can be gently erased.
