Lot 176 Canada #641/655 8c-15c Multicoloured Various Designs 1974 Commemmoratives, 7 Rosecraft First Day Covers Franked With Singles and block, DF, LF, MF, HF and HB Paper, Type A And DCat. Value $14

A group of 7 Rosecraft First Day Covers franked with singles and block. Generally all VF. The paper fluorescence of the stamps DF for the Cycling, UPU and Welland Canal issues; LF for the Winter Sports issue, MF for the Mennonite Settlers issue, HF for the Marconi Issue and HB for the Telephone Centenary issue. All covers are unaddressed and make use of two types of the general purpose parliament cachet that Rosecraft employed on a number of issues. Type A is the black cachet and type D is the green one. Dickinson catalogue value is $14.

A note about how we calculated Dickinson Catalogue values in conjunction with Unitrade. Dickinson does not list paper varieties on FDC's, nor do they price anything other than a single. FDC's are typically regarded as being similar to mint stamps in the sense that if they are unaddressed, they are still valid for postage. So, that is why the FDC price in Unitrade is typically slightly more than a mint single. That being the case, what we have done where we have a better paper variety on an FDC is we have taken the Dickinson catalogue value and added the mint value of the paper variety to the FDC price. If there is a pair or a block, we have added the Unitrade value of the extra stamps to the Dickinson cover price.
