A very fine used example of the 5/- dull green & deep ultramarine from the 1887-1902 Bicolored, Crown CA watermark. Perf 14 comb, scarce. A scarce postally used example of the 5/- value with the duty plate printed in deep ultramarine. Cancelled with February 2, 1899 Lagos CDS. A tough stamp to find used with good colour because the dull green ink is doubly fugitive, and runs with exposure to water, and only 9240 were issued. 2022 Scott Classic cat. $175.
